Horus the Avenger’s glorious wings are encircling the solar disk, symbol of the sun god Ra. His eyes symbolize the sun and moon. In his claws he clutches the Egyptian ankh, symbol of everlasting life. Horus was a major deity in Egyptian culture and was also known as the sky-god and the god of healing.
